Surprise coffee! Wush wush is a rare heirloom variety from Ethiopia that has migrated it’s way to Colombia. It’s rare to find at all, let alone processed as a clean washed coffee. It seems these days that rare varietals are almost always processed with heavy fermentation. So we jumped at the chance to offer this washed version of wush wush from Patio Bonito and Paola Trujillo.
The coffee is aromatic and complex. It balances malic and citrus acidity with a silky body and medium weight. It’s juicy, clean, and sweet. We’re getting apples and lime throughout with an herbal tea finish. Our favorite part of this coffee is oddly the aftertaste, which is a strong fresh ripe blackberry flavor. How’s that for coffee snob talk? We know this coffee is great while you’re drinking it, but just wait until you’ve finished drinking it! Haha. Good times.
